Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV).
Today I want to take an opportunity to stimulate your faith. I want to remind you that faith is real substance. It is not physical, tangible substance, but it is a real substance nevertheless. Faith is the placeholder until manifestation or results takes place.
The following translation of Hebrews 11:1 really enlightened my heart:
Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
Today many business transactions are made over the Internet. Using a credit card and some security information a person can purchase an item without ever physically coming in contact with it.
On many occasions I have reserved hotel rooms; in a city I have never been to, in the hotel I have never seen. The only proof that I have that the hotel exists are the images found on a website. I am quite certain the city exist because I have heard others talk of it and may have seen photos of it. What about the hotel? I see the pictures, the website reports that rooms are available, but how can I be sure that I actually have a room?
Each time I have reserved a room I received a confirmation number. The confirmation number no matter how long or short it is; it is the only proof that a hotel room will be available during a certain time frame for me. The confirmation number is not the room number, the door, the bed, or even the soap dish. However the confirmation number stands in the place of the physical room and everything that I shall expect to find in it. When I make the purchase with my credit card, the hotel does not bring the room to me but it holds the room for me. I can now tell my family or my colleagues that I am going to a certain city and I am staying at a certain hotel. How can I be so sure? I have a confirmation number.
When I show up to the hotel on the specified date I can expect to have a room. If I am at the right hotel, my hotel room is guaranteed because of my confirmation number.
God has made some promises to you in His WORD. Although you may not have experienced all of His promises they are still true and they are still available. When you make the exchange of faith for what God has promised, your faith becomes your confirmation. You can now put your mind at rest because God ALWAYS makes good on His promises.
