SEEing The New You

View Point

Can You SEE what God is saying?

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (New Kings James Version)

When you accept Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life, you become what the WORD of God calls a new creation. What is a new creation? A new creation is God making the real you (the human spirit), brand new on the inside. Before Jesus, your spirit was dead or separated from God. No matter how many good things you had done, they were not acceptable to God.

Accepting Jesus gave you a fresh start in the eyes of God. Now He SEES you as righteous. Righteous simply means you have right standing with God or you are now on good, favorable terms with God. He is not holding your past against you. You are no longer guilty and you have no need to be ashamed in His presence.

Paul defining what it truly means to be righteous, wrote this to the church at Rome, “ just as David also speaks of the blessing on the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works: “ Blessed are those whose lawless deeds have been forgiven, And whose sins have been covered. “Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will not take into account.” Romans 4:6-8 (New American Standard Bible)

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corinthians 5:21 New American Standard Bible) Your sin issues were sin issues from your very nature (or human spirit). When you are made righteous have clean a slate, a fresh start.  Your sins were actually forgiven when Jesus died, however you had to accept what Jesus did for you by accepting Him. This is only true in Jesus Christ. No other belief, action or behavior makes this possible. We must make a decision to believe what God has already done through Jesus Christ.

How would you conduct yourself if all you sins were forgiven? Do you think you would be happy? Relieved or free of stress? Or maybe feel like a winner? Well all those things are true, even if you don’t feel them right now. On four different occasions, the WORD of God tells us that righteous people live by faith. How you feel is not an act of faith. What you see (with you natural eyes) is not an act of faith. Your faith is a combination of belief and the necessary corresponding action. It is actually impossible to become more righteous than God has already made you.

The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ were to give you a new nature. This is the new creation, this is the NEW you.

If we only could SEE how great being made righteous is.

SEE Yourself as NEW!!
