Can You SEE what God is saying?
1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish. Psalm 1:1-6 (New King James Version)
How do we trust God? We trust God by trusting and living by the Word.
The cursed man (person) who trusts in human efforts and self-reliance instead of God. The Blessed Man (person) is one who places all of his hope and confidence in God. In the Hebrew language, “bless(ed)”, means to congratulate, praise, salute, and noteworthy. Here is another great contrast between the cursed man and the Blessed Man.
The Blessed Man has a behavior that helps him to avoid the consequences of the curse.
Today, let’s look at what he DOES.
- Delights – receives at great degree of satisfaction from the WORD
- Meditates – thinks and speaks the WORD throughout the day
- Prospers – succeeds in life because of his focus
Sometimes we can’t avoid the environments we are exposed to; however we can dictate the experience. Delighting and meditating in God’s WORD gives us the ability to alter the experience. The WORD has the supernatural ability to transform your environment and can cause you to SEE and experience a different reality.
So again today, I remind you to protect your heart. Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life (Proverbs 4:23 New Living Translation) Jesus also revealed this truth to us, “Good people bring good things out of the good they stored in their hearts. But evil people bring evil things out of the evil they stored in their hearts. People speak the things that are in their hearts.” Luke 6:45 New Century Version (NCV)
Success comes from your heart. Success is often considered a good thing, yet that is not always true. If evil, worry or unbelief fills your heart, you can succeed in failing; just like you planned or envisioned in your heart. Take time each day to mediate the WORD of God. Don’t allow it to become a boring routine, but it does need to become a routine. Get excited!! When you meditate the WORD of God, you will begin to SEE the plan of God for your life. “SEE” Blessed!!
